We provide one to one tuition with experienced teachers on a range of orchestral instruments, piano and keyboards,  acoustic and electric guitar, recorders and voice.

Lessons usually last for 30 minutes but a 20 minute lesson may be advised by a tutor for those taking up a new instrument. If a shared lesson is felt to be more suitable then we will endeavour to meet this need.

Your children will be encouraged to keep Progress Books to help teachers, parents and themselves stay in touch and informed about how they are doing. Parents are most welcome to sit in on lessons and to chat with teachers.

One of Music School’s greatest strengths is its richness as a musical community and the chances it offers for children to play instruments and make and enjoy music with others.

We aim to provide opportunities for collective music-making based on the needs of the students.

We offer choirs for both younger and older children, recorder groups from beginners to more experienced players; a Rock School for our budding rock stars and for those wishing to broaden their musical experiences the chance to dance in our Street Dancing group.

We also encourage our students to busk and perform both together and individually at our Christmas and Summer Bash with parents and staff joining in on the Big Numbers! We also have a busking licence from Taunton Deane to enable ‘In Town’ performances to be offered.

A weekly art workshop runs throughout most of the morning offering planned Art and Craft projects and the chance for free, spontaneous creating!

At 11.00 am we come together, young people, teachers, parents and committee for a cup of well-earned tea, coffee or cold drink, sweets from our Tuck Shop, and occasional performances in our Hall Cafe by our students.
